(CNN) — Gisele Bündchen spoke about the end of her marriage to Tom Brady and compared the separation process to a “death and rebirth”.
In the cover story of the new edition of Vanity FairBündchen said that what has been reported in the media about the way his marriage ended — specifically the fact that he filed for divorce because Brady backtracked on his decision to retire from football to play one more season — simply It was not true.
“It’s a years-long process,” he told the publication.
Bündchen called the idea of leaving Brady for his football career “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”

“Listen, I have always encouraged him and would continue to do so forever. If there is a person that I want to be the happiest in the world, it is him, believe me, ”she said. “I want him to achieve and conquer. I want all his dreams to come true. That’s what I want, really, from the bottom of my heart.”
Bündchen said that their marriage and their end cannot be explained so simply.

“What has been said is a piece of a much larger puzzle,” Bündchen said. “It’s not so black and white.”
“Sometimes you grow together; sometimes you grow separately,” she added. “When I was 26 and he was 29, we met, we wanted a family, we wanted things together. As time went by, we realized that we wanted different things and now we had to make a decision. That doesn’t mean you don’t love the person. It just means that in order for you to be authentic and really live the life you want to live, you have to have someone to meet in the middle of, right? It’s a dance. It’s a balance.”

Bündchen likened the separation process to “a death and rebirth”, and said she is also mourning “the death of my dream”.
“It’s hard because you imagine your life was going to be a certain way and you did everything you could to make it that way, you know?” she said. “I believed in fairy tales when I was a child. I think it’s beautiful to believe in that. I want to say I’m so grateful that I did.”
